HURRICANE WILMA'S WRATH
Hurricane Wilma knocked out the "Open House" for this past Tuesday. Instead I have the pictures of the immediate aftermath in my neighborhood, Bay Harbor Islands and Miami Beach. It's upsetting that these storms are coming so fast and furious. It seems one right after the other. I remember waking up Monday morning and watching the palms from my window being almost bent in half. There was a roar like a freight train going through. Lost electricity soon afterwards and have yet to get it back. I've been down from New York ten years and this is definitely the worse one. I live in a pretty sturdy building and our roof held fine but unfortunately around the neighborhood a couple of car windows got blown out from the force of the wind, trees were downed and some roofs were ripped up. Went to the office on South Beach and pretty much the same story. Couldn't even get into the building because the glass windows were broken on the Bank of America side. We Miamians are a sturdy lot and are picking up the pieces. See you for "Open House" next week. Phyllis
